Phat, Dumb and Happy

well 2 outta 3 aint bad :P

Welp its the end of the month again and time to report my weight again. drumroll please...

239. Holy crapola Doug, can that be right? Yup, Down 7 lbs from last month. Why? you might ask? just read the post just under this one, A pedometer and 7000 steps a day(yeah i know i said 6000 but where's the fun if you dont have a stretch goal). Ive been doin at least 7k steps every day and i can already feel the difference, and hence the 7 lb loss. So the weather getting nicer and my fat ass, getting smaller, its another great month in the books.

Now weight loss/gain has never been that much of an issue, ive always been able to lose weight, and then 6 months later put it all on again(and then some). Thats why i'm partaking in the fat challenge, cause i gotta keep this weight off. Now, to be honest, my "actual" weight right now is probably closer to 236 because i actually weighed myself after breakfast AND lunch, but thats beside the point, or hell maybe that is the point :P

Now i dont know if this is considered cheating, but ive basically been skipping a meal a day and substituting a Protein Shake. Now this comes from one of my local accounts here called Nutrition 53. Its a company owned by ex-NFL'er Bill Romanowski. they make a product called LEAN ONE and you mix 2 scoops of protien powder with water(which is a normal mix for most protein shakes) but the difference with their product is, it tastes like chocolate milk, without any milk at all. Yes thats right, the shake actually tastes like a shake, its freakin awesome and 200 calories vs 800 for a meal is a win in my book, and i have, well ok i don't have anymore, the ass to prove it :)

6000 steps a day

Wanna be considered a healthy human being? Simply walk 6000 steps every day. Hmm seems simple enuff doesnt it? Well i'm living proof that it does(not that I have been counting the steps I take every day, more on that later). I was watching a show on TLC called "I can make you thin".

http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/make-you-thin/make-you-thin.html

Sort of an english dude talking about how to lose weight, and not involving buying a gym membership. So I watched for about 20 minutes and a great point was brought up. a "normal" person walks about 4000 steps every day, and an in shape-healthy person walks about 6000 steps. as a measurment tool, a very active person walks about 10,000. I thought to myself, well hell thats all i have been doing for exercise since the fat challenge started is walking to the grocery store to get my meals instead of driving over there (about 1/2 mile or so away). So I'm guessing i walk about 6000 steps a day (4-5 times a week) but how do i really know? So i found an overstock pedometer on REI.com

http://www.rei.com/REI-Outlet/product/772086

so basically what it does is it tracks how many steps you take every day. What a great reminder to have on your wrist every day. Now exactly how it works, i have NO clue, but i will be reviewing the results a few weeks after it comes to my house.

I think its gonna be an awesome tool and i cant wait to see what kind of results i get when i know exactly how many steps i walk every day(and actually how many i take on a slow day) I will keep track on my calendar of how many steps i'm averaging a day and post here so more to come, stay tuned
